A Soccer Club Dedicated to Sportsmanship

Pathfinder and St. John School are proud to partner together to provide exceptional opportunities for the youth in our community to thrive individually and as a team through the sport of soccer.

Cougar Soccer is open to anyone in the west county area regardless of your church or school affiliation.

Why STJ Soccer?

As part of the CYC West County program, our program is open to anyone in the West County area–regardless of your church or school affiliation! Teams range from ages Pre-K through 6th grade & encourage sportsmanship, team play, respect, individual success, and fun!

Soccer is a fantastic sport for young children and can become a great tool for children’s development. Our coaches care about the growth of your child and support them throughout the season in both skills for the sport and skills for life!

Parents are an important of the success of a team, and our parents are the best–supportive, respectful, and caring for the team, its coaches, and each other! Join with friendly parents and be a part of a community bigger than soccer. Read through our parent values below:

How do I register my child?

REGISTRATION PROCESS OVERVIEW

  1. Register at TeamSideline
  2. Purchase Uniform if needed (available on CYC registration site)
  3. Get your child a CYC Card (This year, CYC card fees will be automatically added to registration through CYC. New cards are required this year but you will not have to purchase them separately)

FEES

Early Registration: April 1st – May 14th

  • $105 for the 1st player
  • $20 sibling discount for 2nd and 3rd child*
  • 4th child+ are free*

Regular Registration: May 15th – June 15th Prices increase by $25

  • $130 for the 1st player
  • $20 sibling discount for 2nd and 3rd child*
  • 4th child+ are free*

Late Registration: $10.00 per child fee after June 15th

REFUNDS

  • April 1st – May 15th – FULL REFUND, less uniform fee
  • ​May 16th – June 15th – 50% REFUND, less uniform fee
  • After June 16th – NO REFUND**

**Team declaration are due and refunds are not given​

UNIFORMS

  • Uniforms are $35. This includes a jersey, shorts and socks. Your child’s first name will be on the jersey and it will be yours to keep for future seasons. Jersey numbers will be selected for you.

***If you have a jersey from the previous season you are NOT required to purchase another one but you will need to record the existing jersey number when registering.

CYC ID CARDS

CYC Cards will now be added to registration by CYC West County as we move to picture rosters in Fall 2022.

Can I be a coach?

YES! Our volunteer coaches are trained through the CYC’s Coaching to Make a Positive Difference and Play Like a Champion programs. Our coaches and referees are members of our community that value youth sports and the ideals that we uphold. Details below:

REQUIREMENTS TO BE A COACH/ASSISTANT COACH

  1. All Coaches and Managers of Kindergarten through 6th Grade teams must attend the CYC Sports Coaches Training Program, a 2.5 hour program that helps coaches make a positive difference in their team member’s lives.

  2. The CYC also requires that all coaches and assistant coaches attend a Protecting God’s Children Workshop, through the Archdiocese of Saint Louis’ Safe Environment Program, and have a Missouri Background Check every two years. Register HERE*Register with the passcode stlprotect

  3. Please read, sign and return the Ethical Code of Conduct to CYC Director (email to: [email protected])

  4. After completing the training and attending the program, coaches need to apply for a CYC Coaches ID card.

Can I be a referee?

REQUIREMENTS TO BECOMING A REFEREE FOR CYC WEST COUNTY

Pathfinder/St. John Soccer Association are looking for 7th graders – 12th graders who want to make a little extra cash on the weekends this Fall!

Benefits of becoming a referee

  1. You set your own hours! Referee positions for games are filled based on a sign up basis.

  2. Excellent pay!  We pay $25/game for K-4th grade games (8v8) and $40/game for 5-6th grade games (11v11)

  3. A chance to give back and work with kids in your community!

  4. Work with your friends and make new friends! Grab a friend and train together–two officials needed per game.

How to Become a Referee

  1. All officials and scorekeepers should enroll in the CYC-SOA (Sports Officials Association) first and will be assigned a unique SOA# that will take a minimum of 24 hours to generate. Your SOA# appears under “Additional Information,” under your parent’s account in TeamSideline. You will register under St. John Lutheran (Ellisville).

  2. Attend a clinic. Officials in 7th-12th grade will need to attend a clinic every year prior to starting the season.

  3. Pass the online test with an 80% or above. The test is open book and the rulebooks can be found on the CYC Rulebooks page.

  4. Complete the Code of Ethical Conduct for Minors and submit to our CYC Director (email: [email protected])
