In life, it’s tempting to settle for less than God’s ideal, as long as we can keep limping along with our current situation. Our marriage pattern may not be great, but it’s good enough. I may not be the worker I want to be or at the job I’d crave, but it’s a steady paycheck with job security. But, what if we let God “put to death” our personal status quo, for the sake of resurrecting something new and amazing from the ashes of our old ways and old life? A resurrection can’t happen, unless we stop clinging to the “good-enough” life—and let God make something new.
