While we may say “thank you” to the person at the counter who serves us, things like thank you notes are a challenge. When seen through the lens of etiquette, formal “thank yous” seem burdensome, antiquated, and pointless, and perhaps they are? But what do we miss when we fail to take time to express our thanks, intentionally and specifically? (Notes not required 😉
