Isn’t it nice to have the spotlight once in a while? Who doesn’t want to be noticed and appreciated? But in grabbing the spotlight for ourselves we can get accustomed to shoving people out of our way, or worse, trampling them underfoot. This is not only unkind, it’s a way to lose friends. Jesus shows us the win-win of choosing to applaud someone else rather than promote ourselves.
