I regularly collect donations from a plastic box at Timberwinds Nursery for St. Louis Pet Rescue, where I work. Two years ago, a stray female cat with five kittens, including a feral litter, was rescued after being hidden for eight weeks. I fostered the cats with help from rescue volunteers. Mama Timbers, once vaccinated and spayed, was returned to the nursery, which named her. The kittens were adopted, and some remain in foster care. STLPR keeps a donation box at Timberwinds, which I regularly empty, with on this day about $70. Mama Timbers is loved at the nursery, living comfortably with her toys and blankies.
