The Divide: Political & Identity Markers – One of the other barriers that prevents us from coming together, even after we’ve gotten near and freed people from their scripts, is the belief that faithfulness requires us to take stances for what we believe is right and true. But, Jesus had a different approach. He stood for people, not positions and resisted every attempt of religious people to force him to “take a position” on an issue where people were at stake. Jesus always put people above any agenda. Which meant he could focus on the greater things that truly bring life
