Me, Myself, & Why?

“I am _____.” How do you usually fill in the blank? In life, we are pushed to define ourselves over and over again. But what if our deepest sense of identity isn’t anything we have to define or prove? What if it’s something that’s been freely given that we are invited to discover and steward?

Our Love-Hate with Boxes

Apr 17, 2022

Which boxes do you check on the form? You know the ones where we have to define ourselves over and over again by how we vote, where our ancestors came from, by how much money we make, or our career path.

Do you ever feel a little defiant when someone tries to put you in a box? But we don’t want to stand on our own either, because one of the greatest human question is, “Who are my people?” Is there a way to break out of society’s boxes and still find a place to belong?
