Isn’t being good, “good enough” for God?

History has remembered many good people who did great things for the world, who also had no connection to Jesus. In our lives, we know people who are much the same. Is there no chance for even the best people we know—people who are kind, loving, giving, and would lay down their life for a friend—to find eternal life if they don’t know Jesus?
